A COE car is one whose first 10-year COE has been renewed. You pay only for the years left, which puts luxury, performance and family cars within reach of an everyday budget. Every one below is for sale through us, cheapest to own first.
Depreciation per year is the fairest way to compare COE cars: it is what the car really costs you for each year you can drive it, before fuel, insurance, road tax and servicing.

A COE car gives you more car for your money: you pay only for the years of COE that are left, so a well-kept luxury, performance or family car can cost about the same per year as a younger everyday one.
Making the most of it is straightforward. Compare cars on yearly cost, set aside a servicing budget as you would for any older car, check whether the COE was renewed for 5 or 10 years, and have the car inspected. You are welcome to bring your own mechanic. Weighing a COE car against a younger one? See everything we have ranked by cost per year.

Every car in Singapore needs a Certificate of Entitlement (COE), which lasts 10 years from registration. A COE car is one whose first COE has been renewed so it can stay on the road for another 5 or 10 years. The owner pays the Prevailing Quota Premium to renew.
You are only paying for the years of COE that are left, and a renewed car no longer earns a PARF rebate when it is deregistered. That is why a 15-year-old luxury or sports car can cost about the same per year as a much younger everyday car.
For many drivers, yes. You pay only for the COE that is left, so you get more car for your money and often a lower yearly cost than a younger car. Choose well: compare cars on depreciation per year, budget for servicing as you would for any older car, and have the car inspected before you commit.
A PARF car is still on its first 10-year COE and returns a PARF rebate, a share of its ARF that shrinks with age, if it is deregistered early. How much depends on when its COE was bought: rebates were capped at $60,000 from February 2023 and cut to 30% down to 5% of ARF, capped at $30,000, for COEs from the second February 2026 bidding. A COE car has had its COE renewed, so there is no PARF rebate at all. PARF cars cost more but hold more value; COE cars cost less per year but are older.
For cars, it depends on how it was renewed. A COE renewed for 5 years can only be renewed once and the car must be deregistered when it runs out; a 10-year renewal can be renewed again. Ask us which type a car has before you buy.
Depreciation is the biggest number and it is shown on every car. On top of that, road tax carries a surcharge once a car is more than 10 years old: 10%, rising by 10% a year to 50% once it is more than 14 years old. Cars over 10 years old are inspected every year instead of every two. Older cars also need more servicing and parts.
Yes, with one limit to plan around. For a used car the OMV is reduced for its age before the MAS loan cap is applied, so most COE cars can be financed up to 70% of the price. MAS allows up to seven years, but lenders will not lend past the car's COE, so the loan can be no longer than the COE that is left, and a car with under a year left is usually bought outright. Each car's page shows the longest loan it can have and the monthly payment.
The exact COE expiry date and whether it is a 5- or 10-year renewal, the service history, mileage, and the result of an independent inspection. You are welcome to bring your own mechanic to view any of our cars.
COE rules are set by the Land Transport Authority. For current renewal prices and terms see LTA OneMotoring: COE renewal.
